Lucky in New York

Last month Kevin won a Scholastic writing contest. He had to write 250 words about his favorite book, and why he liked it. He chose a Dr Seuss book called "Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?" Well, out of 8000 entries he found out how lucky he was to be one out of the ten chosen winners. The prize was a trip to New York to visit a few people at Scholastic.

I was lucky enough to go with him. So here is a little peek of my photo journal of Kevin...A Lucky boy in New York City...
So what does a boy do in New York?
He enjoys the "best" milk shake (for $6.95) and burger at Bill's Bar and Burger's.
He does A LOT of walking, taking in the sights...The colors
The noises, the lights, the hustle and bustle..
And the shops... (had to take a picture of our favorite shop name)
He learned everything is bigger in New York....
The Legos
And even the candy bars
He took time to be reflective remembering and learning about the recovery after 911. A favorite part of the trip.
And time to be silly.

He met some pretty girls...
Hanging out with the local girl at the hat shop
And then to Scholatic to get a hug from Taylor Swift
So what does a boy do in New York?
He experiences all that is new, has a lot of fun, and fully enjoys his time there with his mom.
And she does the same with him!
