Making Valentine's Day Happy

These Valentines Day Cards are a year old. Grandma Mac makes each of us cards for every holiday. We cherish them. Delaney has a drawer full of all the cards that have been made specially for her. And yes, we received new Valentines Day cards this year, but I chose to save these cards and post a photo of them because they were a special gift.

These were the first cards that Grandma sent to us after her illness last year. In the months before, we did not receive the normal Thanksgiving Day cards, or Christmas cards and we missed them, and Grandma. When we received these cards last February it was a sign to our family that Grandma was really feeling better, at least well enough to be making cards again!

And now a year after that she is feeling even better. There are continued struggles and scars that come with her battle, but she should be proud of what she has overcome. She has a strong faith and will to live, and is such an inspiration to me.
And she has a great way making us all feel very special. This year Kelly strangely received her Thanksgiving and Christmas cards late from Grandma. So Grandma sent her Valentine's Day card early, and then sent an extra on time. That made Kelly smile. And she not only makes us feel special with her cards but with the words she chooses when we speak. She has such a way of accepting us for what we are and finding the good in our family.

So this Valentines Day we say we love you Grandma, and are glad you are here to make our day special. Hope yours is special too.
