This afternoon Kelly and I are off to Schroeder Aquatic Center for the 2011 summer state swim meet. Our team is hosting the "Duel at the Pool" this year, so we will be spending many, many hours on deck this weekend.
(A little CHA layout for Bella)
Kelly is now 11, and the youngest of the girls in her age group. Most likely the tiniest swimmer in the group too. But not the weakest by any means. She has qualified for the maximum of state times, many before she even aged up, and her coach has termed her the "iron man of state". She will be swimming the longest events this meet for a total of 2800 meters of competition by the end of the weekend. That may sound like a dueling task for us non swimmers, but to her it is no big deal. So I know she will do great.
But lets not be so serious about the whole event, because even though she may spend hours in the pool, and be deticated to the sport, when it comes down to it, she is all about her swim friends and being silly.

So all those state swimmers better watch out because not only are these girls strong and fast, they are the best at having a blast while they are together!
Go SWAT!!!
