Scenery

Back in 1993 we were living in Arizona, In the land where every day looks the same...sunny, dry, and brown. So that year, traveling to Wisconsin to get married, there was no doubt as to when to hold the ceremony. We both agreed our favorite month would be October. With it's cool temperatures and brilliant colors, it was a welcome change to what we were living in.

That was a great decision. Every year since then, for our anniversary, we have an excuse to schedule some time to take in what God has painted for us. This year we hopped on a coach bus with a group from Bunker's Bar and set out at 9am for a trip across central Wisconsin to visit local wineries. A well planned way to celebrate our anniversary...12 hours together (actually 14 since the bus driver got lost on the way home) sipping wine, meeting new people, and experiencing Wisconsin in all it's beauty.
So the day was filled with fabulous scenery. But scenery is not always what you see in nature. I think memories are scenery for the heart, and this day was filled with that too. How could it not be...I was spending the day with my favorite person.
