The Best and The Worst

How do you have the best basket ball practice of the season?
Your coach borrows his neighbor's limo, packs eleven 6th grade boys in the back seat with the intent to take them to practice. And...here is the part that makes it the best...

If the doors of the gym are locked, and you and the team cannot get in for pactice, you drive around with the team in the limo for an hour and a half until the parents arrive to pick them up!

And how do you have the worst game of the season?

First of all you have a talented team that has not lost a single game, you participate in the home tournament, and make it to the championship round where you play a team that has also not lost a game all season.
The game is close.
The second string spends quite a bit of time on the bench.

The coach is stressed.

The crowd is on its feet awaiting the outcome.
And the home team loses by 4 points to receive 2nd place in the tournament.

Trophies in hand, those faces looks as if it is a punishment to hold them.
The boys that day thought it was the worst day of the season, but I think it was one of the best, so they could get some practice...practice at being good losers!

Great season boys, you've put 100% into every game and should be proud no matter if you win of lose!

Great post! I love (you know what I mean) the one of them sadly holding their trophies. Poor guys. Awesome about the limo, and Kevin reminds me of the kid in Hook in that picture.

Awww...my girls went through the same thing at our last tournament. It's tough to see them so bummed out, and nearly impossible to give them encouragment!
