Like last weekend, this weekend our family spent a lot of time at the St Matthias gym. Connor (he is the serious looking one on the right) and the 8th grade boys played their last tournament in their grade school gym. (Awwww, sniff, sniff, pass the tissue)
Our team was successful, winning their first two games to play in the championship round. They got all dressed up for the occasion, gave their parents flowers as a thank you for all the support over the years, and played a hard final game.
But the end result was the same as 6th grader's tournament last week. They lost in the final moments of the game by one point, ending up with second place trophies hanging down low in disappointment.
So the same photo as last week...boys in basketball uniforms, holding trophies, with glum expressions. But disappointment is to be expected, and Connor had kept a good attitude throughout the game, so he and I went out to celebrate the end of a great season with a tiramisu sundae from Kopp's. That made everything better, and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a little pick-me-up!

Well played game for sure! The team looked great all dressed up, but most of all, I admire your perspective-trophies hung low in disappointment.
